On the 8th and 9th of December the European Commission DG RTD hosted the 4th meeting in the marine and maritime research infrastructure expert group. The group is being chaired by Rudy Herman also co-chair of JPI Oceans.

Most high-level speakers at the EurOCEAN 2010 conference identified the Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) on “Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans” as the relevant scheme to meet grand challenges faced by marine and maritime research community, such as the development on an integrated network of marine observatories.

Research Commissioner flags JPI Ocean again
