The Baltic and North Sea Coordination and Support Action  (BANOS CSA) 'Towards a Baltic and North Sea Research and Innovation Programme' runs from November 2018 until autumn 2021. JPI Oceans is a Strategic Partner in the Banos CSA.

The BANOS CSA prepares a framework for launching a joint Baltic Sea and North Sea Research and Innovation Programme (BANOS) from 2021 onwards. The programme, as planned by the BANOS CSA consortium, intends to:

underpin and develop EU and national policies and strategies, with particular consideration of Europe’s blue growth strategy in the northern European regional seas,

achieve high level of scientific, administrative and financial integration, and

generate strong EU added value and impact.

As the CSA is drawing to its end on 31 October 2021, the End Conference will celebrate highlights of the work carried out by the Consortium in the years 2018-2021. Also joining the event is the European Commission, which will lead on a session titled The future of R&I for healthy seas and ocean in Europe: the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) and the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters.

All stakeholders interested in the regional seas agenda of the Baltic Sea and the North Sea as well as the wider Pan European regional seas agenda are invited and warmly welcomed!
