A landmark event endorsed by the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Strategic Navigation Forum is set to convene on 11 June in Brussels, at the Comic Arts Museum (address: Rue des Sables 20, 1000 Brussels). This high-level gathering aims to pioneer discussions on the future of marine and maritime research and innovation, looking beyond 2025.

The Forum will be closed with a reception followed by the screening the critically acclaimed documentary "Deep rising." Narrated by Jason Mamoa, and interwoven with awe-inspiring footage of the abyss, "Deep rising" focuses on the potential impact of deep-sea mining on our marine environment. In doing so it shows unreleased footage of the JPI Oceans MiningImpact 2 project which conducted an independent scientific investigation of the environmental impacts of a prototype mining robot. Join us on a journey from the deepest depths of our ocean to the future of green energy, and learn how the two are inextricably linked.

Will you attend the evening reception?
