This parliamentary session signals a decisive step from vision to execution in European ocean governance. Convened under the SEArica Intergroup and hosted by MEP Paulo do Nascimento Cabral, it aligns priorities of the recently unveiled European Ocean Pact with the implementation capacities enabled by JPI Oceans’ new Strategy Framework 2026-2030.

In a compact format, the session will move from the Ocean Pact’s broad political mandate to the practical levers, including research programming, international collaboration, and parliamentary action needed to deliver it. Brief keynote insights set the stage, an expert debate discusses the implementation and a networking reception lets participants establish the partnerships that translate a vision into concrete actions.
