Lavinia Giulia Pomarico

Science-policy advisor

Lavinia is the main contact point for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance, the Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise and the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) Joint Action. She is also part of the communication team, and supports JPI Oceans' role in several Strategic Engagements, including the EU Mission Ocean Waters and EU4Ocean. Before joining JPI Oceans, Lavinia worked for UN Environment, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Her academic background is rooted in the field of environmental law and policy.
