Vegard Rønning Dahlen is the main contact point for the Joint Action on Offshore Freshened Groundwater and Ocean Oxygen Loss. He is also involved in the Joint Actions on European Marinas Network and Blue Bioeconomy. Vegard academic background is from marine biology, with a specialisation in aquaculture. His previous experience is from the Norwegian public administration and management of environmental issues at large infrastructure construction projects. Vegard Rønning Dahlen is seconded by the Research Council of Norway to the JPI Oceans Secretariat.

Joint Call on Offshore Freshened Groundwater

JPI Oceans is pleased to pre-announce the launch of a Joint Call on Offshore Freshened Groundwater, designed to advance the knowledge of these groundwater resources. The call is foreseen to open for applications on 4 December 2025, with a deadline on 6 March 2026.

The BlueBio ERA-NET Cofund aimed to strengthen Europe’s position in the blue bioeconomy. It consisted of 30 partners from 17 countries, and launched a total of four calls funding 49 projects. Since 2024, JPI Oceans is following up the funded projects and activities.
