Joint Actions

The central implementation mechanism of JPI Oceans is that of Joint Actions. These are formed around topics that fall within JPI Oceans’ thematic scope and contribute to its objectives. Following a period of scoping (i.e. Scoping Action), a topic is adopted by the Management Board and becomes a Joint Action. Joint Actions are supported by the interest and commitment of several member or associated countries, under the leadership of one or the co-leadership of multiple member countries. They are underpinned by a developed implementation concept, including plans for resourcing, expected outcomes and impact.
