JPI Oceans and the BlueBio ERA-NET Cofund engaged knee-deep in the first Mission Arena in Gothenburg on 14-16 November. We shared our experiences as networks of R&I funders and consulted regional stakeholders’ views on which funding instruments are best suited to support the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters.
Niall McDonough to lead JPI Oceans in second term as Chair

The representatives of the JPI Oceans AISBL member countries have unanimously voted for an extension of the term of the previous Chair, Niall McDonough of the Marine Institute in Ireland.
Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise kicks off publication process of First Assessment Report

Following months of thorough scoping and more months of intense writing, the Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise is pleased to announce the submission of the chapters for peer review. The First Assessment Report of the European Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise will be published in the journal State of the Planet. Through the journal webpage the chapter drafts will be accessible for open expert review.

Call for Expression of Interest: Private sector partners for Ecological Aspects of Deep-Sea Mining project(s)

The JPI Oceans Joint Action on Ecological Aspects of Deep-Sea Mining is extending an invitation to private sector stakeholders for partnering in forthcoming research project(s). These project(s) will examine the ecological implications of deep-sea mining activities.

The third phase of the Joint Action will contribute to advancing scientific knowledge and supporting policy making on deep-sea mining, and analyse ethical implications and societal consequences related to deep-sea mining.
